, to have in place a documented plan regarding the Selection, Care & Maintenance of Fire Suits. We support our customers to understand the legal obligations and develop easily managed, cost-effective solutions delivering cost, service and performance benefits. Our advice and support cover Training, Product Tracking , Product Cleaning, Product Inspection and Product Repairs ensuring continued product safety performance throughout the life of the PPE.
We can do this as we employ the most experienced and qualified support staff available to the Irish Fire & Rescue Industry.
The following are the various elements and benefits of a Waterford Uniforms Care and Maintenance plan.
Notification for product collection
That is a product for on-going repair or products under an annual maintenance contract.
Product packed into supplied packaging.
Product Tracking via Bar codes and management with Waterford Uniforms Apparel© Software.
The material water repellancy is replenished.
Product Repaired (if applicable)
Product Information updated in Waterford Uniforms Apparel© Software
Product returned within 10 days of receipt.
Emergency Product Stock support available if necessary also.
Low < 60 degrees C temperature washing processing.
Tight parameter controlled process, for temperature, time and chemicals.
Lowest mechanical action possible.
Maximum Water levels and inverted control on drum speeds.
Chemicals are applied to replenish the water repellency performance of the outer and linings.
After washing kit is air dried and inverted prior to the tumble drying process
High Temperature applied for FC regeneration.

INSPECTION & REPAIR PROCESS
An inspection checklist is carried out on all suits. If the inspection highlights a repair requirement, it is recorded via the Waterford Uniforms® Apparel© system, for an inspectors update and for customer account management. Where significant repairs are required a cost value analysis is discussed with customers pre-commencement of repairs. All repairs are carried out by highly qualified seamstresses only and suits are returned for re-inspection after repairs.

PRODUCT LIFE ASSESSMENT
An assessment is made on all inspections in consideration of the garments life cycle qualification.
CERTIFICATE OF CONFORMITY TO THE EN STANDARD
On completion, all items are placed into Webknot bags with Certificates of conformity and dispatch notes.
Labels are attached to the bags to indicate the station they are required for and the route number.
REGULARITY OF CLEANING
We can provide cleaning and inspection on an as required basis as back up to in house cleaning within individual fire services.
Also, we can schedule scheduled return , inspection, cleaning, repair of return of Fire Suits, (i.e. say once annually).
END USER TRAININGWaterford Uniforms® provides comprehensive training and support to our customers as per PPE Directive for manufacturers of complex PPE. Complex PPE is required to be worn by workers who face high probability of experiencing exposure to life threatening injuries in their now normal working environment, e.g. Fire Fighters.
The training covers the significant role and responsibility of each individual Fire Fighter to examine suits after each use for damage and remove from use and send for repair when any product damage is identified.
